Jennifer Pillow is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Athletic Training. She worked in orthopedics for five years before becoming a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in 2013. Her specialties include Deep Tissue, Orthopedic and Sports Massage. Jenn is also certified in Full Body, Active Release Techniques. She is a former instructor for the Massage Therapy Program at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. Jenn prides herself on her extensive knowledge of the human body. Due to her background as an Athletic Trainer she is able to cater her massage to each client based on a strong clinical assessment. Jenn believes that massage is not just a luxury but important for your overall well being.

Liz Martin began her practice in 2004. She specializes in an integrative approach with an emphasis on reflexology, deep tissue, and friction techniques for pain relief. Liz offers a variety of services including aromatherapy, Chinese cupping, hot stone therapy, facial rejuvenation, prenatal massage and more.




Patrick Benson is the owner, director, and educator of Active Asheville Mobile Massage Therapy and Healing Arts in Asheville, NC. He is dedicated to achieving excellence in massage and passionate about training future massage therapists. He also maintains a massage practice with professional athletes participating in sports such as racquetball, football, cheerleading, basketball, tennis, and running.

Patrick has been a massage therapist and massage educator for more than 15 years. He designs classes with innovative concepts and teaching strategies. He is also a public speaker and stress management educator, providing programs for a diverse group of participants including the public, corporations and hospice care workers. As the former Massage Therapy Coordinator at Caldwell Community College, he arranged free massage clinics for veterans, the Appalachian State University football team and many others.

Much of his work includes eliminating chronic pain and sports injuries to optimize performance potential, but make no mistake, he is a true master of relaxation massage!




Maggie Berkowitz works primarily with the Appalachian State University sports medicine staff as an Athletic Trainer, overseeing women’s soccer as well as track and field.

Before working at ASU, Maggie spent many years at Auburn University, working with women’s tennis, cheerleading, women’s soccer and gymnastics.

Maggie completed her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at the University of Delaware in 2013 and earned her Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University.
